Intimate Flow | Collective Housing in El Poblenou, Barcelona

El Poblenou was an industrial district in Barcelona back in the 1950s. People who  used to work there also lived there. However, with the economic booming, people from all over the world start to work and inhabit in El poblenou.

Since there are a lot of gentrifications going on in El Poblenou, this project tends to find a way to balance the two things (the traditional block fabric and the contemporary architectural Form) in pursuing a updated collective housing.

The main idea at the urban scale is trying to respect the traditional urban block fabric in Barcelona and making the building volume fitting into the existing urban fabrics. The streets in the this neighborhood are very busy and there are many interaction between people on the street, between people on the ground and people in th building and between people in different windows. The flow of interaction is happening all over the city. The new project is a proposal to keep this intimate flow alive.
