Wall of Rhythm | Blue Music Library & Museum in St. Louis
Blue music is one of the most famous icons for city of St. Louis. The free style performance and power rhythms really make it stand out. Goethe once said, music is the frozen architecture. The blues music shares the same kinds of trends and gestures with architecture. The project , like writing a song in responding to curtain circumstance, acquires its form by the inputs from the surrounding city landscapes.
The site is situated in the Soulard neighborhood in the southern part of St. Louis, right next the Interstate 55. The initial idea is setting up a long dynamic permeable wall between the highway and the residential neighborhood. The wall is shaped following the rhythms of the impacts coming from both side. Its waves start from the ground on one side and fade in the air on the other side.
